I arranged a bike trip for myself and four of my friends, all from Boulder, Colorado, to ride some of the famous passes in Switzerland. Because it costs so much fly with your own bike these days, I decided to look around for rentals. Luckily, I came across Bike Switzerland via a Google search and began a conversation with the owner: John Klemme. He directed me to the rental page on Bike Switzerland’s website and there I had a look at what they had to offer. I was pleasantly surprised at the matrix of choices; BMC road bikes, hybrid bikes and mountain bikes each model coming in three different sizes. Great bikes and greater still, Bike Switzerland will ship the bikes from Geneva by train to any city in the country. You pick up the bikes at the railway station of the city you specify and return them via rail back to Geneva. The prices are very competitive and the no-hassle pickup and return make it viable option to bringing you own bike. Upon receipt of the cycles, we were all very pleased with their condition, gearing, accessories, and helmets. We started in Andermatt and rode the Furka Pass, the Oberalp pass and the Grochener Alp. From there, we went to Interlaken and rode around Lake Brienz and the next day we rode to Grindlewald. After that, we finished by doing a local mountain ride above Interlaken We had zero problems with the bikes during our ten days in beautiful Switzerland!
